An 83-year-old immobile female patient with type 2 diabetes, incontinence, and adiposity, residing in a nursing home, experienced a heavily contaminated and reddened wound in August 2015. The wound was effectively treated with LIGASANO® wound cleaning sponges, mini wound strips, and steril dressings. Weekly dressing changes showed significant improvement, with the wound granulating and becoming free of coatings by August 12, 2015. By June 2016, the wound was nearly healed and completely healed by September 2016. Preventive care with LIGASANO® mini wound strips continues due to recurring skin defects from excessive sweating.
