Viz.ai, an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered disease detection company, has partnered with precision oncology company Guardant Health to tackle lung cancer care challenges.
Both companies aim to improve lung cancer detection, diagnosis, and treatment.
The collaboration aims to help oncologists diagnose lung cancer earlier, make more informed treatment decisions and improve patient outcomes.
By using advanced technology, both companies seek to close gaps in cancer care and streamline the patient journey.
Viz.ai CEO and co-founder Chris Mansi said: “This collaboration represents a promising step forward in the fight against lung cancer and reflects our commitment to expanding Viz.ai’s impact in oncology.
“Together, we have the opportunity to harness the power of AI and genomics to ensure patients receive timely, personalised, and effective care.”
According to the disease detection firm, nearly 40% of lung cancer patients do not receive guideline-directed therapy. Delays in diagnosis and treatment increase the risk of progression to advanced stages and higher mortality rates.
The proposed collaboration between Viz.ai and Guardant aims to address these gaps by streamlining biomarker testing with Guardant360 CDx liquid biopsy. This will accelerate precision diagnosis and treatment selection, improving patient outcomes.
The Viz.ai One platform is an AI-powered care coordination solution that identifies more patients with suspected diseases, informs critical decisions at the point of care, and optimises care pathways to improve outcomes.
It uses machine learning algorithms to analyse imaging, electronic health record (EHR), and test data, providing real-time, actionable insights and automated assessments to speed up diagnosis and treatment.
With its presence in 1,700 hospitals, Viz.ai acts as a safety net, automatically identifying patients with disease and guiding them to the right specialist and treatment.
In November last year, Viz.ai teamed up with Microsoft to advance AI-powered clinical workflows and improve patient care.
Under the partnership, Viz.ai’s AI models and care coordination tools will integrate with Microsoft’s Precision Imaging Network, part of Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare, to provide a comprehensive solution.
