Vista, a provider of intelligent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) software, has announced positive two-year clinical results of its Vista Cardiac software.

Vista Cardiac is an intelligent software that automates and streamlines MRI acquisition. It allows technologists to perform scans quickly, consistently, and efficiently, said the company.

According to the latest results, the tool improves workflow efficiency, ensures high-quality imaging and scales cardiac MRI (CMR) programmes. This expansion increases patient access to CMR services.

Vista Cardiac delivered 26% faster scans with improved image quality and consistency across all technologists.

It reduced scan time variability by 50%, allowing for shorter scheduling blocks. With one-day access to CMR, it cuts down a 28-day backlog.

The software also increases scan slots by 50%, enabling 900 additional scans without needing extra machines or personnel.

Vista CEO Daniel Hawkins said: “At Vista, we are moving MRI forward, enabling providers to meet rising volumes efficiently while preserving high-quality standards and expanding access to exceptional cardiac care for all patients and healthcare providers.

“CMR has been significantly underutilised relative to its clinical value, often constrained by limitations that Vista’s solution overcomes.”

Vista, previously known as HeartVista, said the tool addresses common CMR challenges with its US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-cleared Vista Cardiac image acquisition software.

Unlike traditional CMR software, Vista Cardiac automates the tedious tasks required of technologists with speed and precision.

According to the intelligent MRI software provider, a full-functional exam can be completed in 12 minutes, while delivering superior clinical data.

Key automation features include scan planning and localisation in just 30 seconds and parameter tuning that ensures optimal settings from the start.

It also has real-time motion and artifact detection for instant re-scans, and in-line analysis while the patient remains in the scanner.

The company said Vista Cardiac is the only third-party software cleared to control MRI systems for image acquisition and reconstruction.

The software is installed on a hospital-provided workstation within the facility’s network and communicates only with the MRI. With its intuitive design and easy implementation, providers can be fully operational in just a few days.

Vista Cardiac is available for sale in the US and is being deployed at hospitals nationwide.

Initially focused on CMR, the company is expanding its technology to include the brain, prostate, and other anatomical areas, offering a full suite of AI-driven MRI capabilities across multiple specialities.
