Siemens Healthineers and Tower Health have entered a 10-year partnership to enhance equipment, modernise technology, and improve the clinical experience for patients.

Tower Health is a regional integrated healthcare system that serves communities in Berks, Chester, Montgomery, and Philadelphia Countiesm, with around 11,500 employees.

The collaboration will bring significant advancements in diagnostic imaging and digital intelligence tools across the Tower Health system.

Siemens Healthineers will upgrade Tower Health’s radiology, cardiology, and oncology departments with advanced equipment.

The equipment includes computed tomography, magnetic resonance, interventional radiology, and Varian radiation oncology therapies.

The upgrades will standardise the healthcare network, enhancing efficiency and capacity.

Tower Health president and CEO Michael Stern said: “This partnership extends beyond merely upgrading equipment; it empowers Tower Health and our staff to uphold our dedication to clinical excellence and innovation, ensuring the delivery of smarter, faster, and more connected care to our patients and the communities we serve for years to come.

“We are proud to establish a strategic partnership with Siemens Healthineers, granting us access to state-of-the-art technology during the next decade.

“Such strategic partnerships are crucial for securing our enduring success, our dedication to pioneering advancements and our exceptional clinical standards. Together, we are building a stronger Tower Health.”

In addition, the Value Partnership includes access to digital automation tools, featuring Siemens Healthineers’ proprietary algorithms.

The tools are designed to standardise clinical operations, simplify reporting, and provide consistent data for cardiovascular imaging, transforming data into actionable insights.

Siemens Healthineers’ subsidiary Varian Americas president John Kowal will be appointed as president and head of Siemens Healthineers’ Americas unit, effective 14 April 2025.

John Kowal said: “Our collaboration with Tower Health presents a significant opportunity to support a major health system in our own community.

“By implementing advanced diagnostic imaging systems, technology solutions and Varian oncology therapies, Tower Health is making a significant investment in its hospitals and, ultimately, in enhancing patient care.”

Early this year, Siemens Healthineers partnered with Swedish medical imaging IT and cybersecurity firm Sectra to improve radiologists’ diagnostic capabilities and patient care.

The collaboration will focus on integrating Siemens Healthineers’ NAEOTOM Alpha class photon-counting CT (PCCT) images into Sectra’s diagnostic application for radiology.
