US-based clinical pathology software provider Techcyte has unveiled Fusion, an open SaaS platform designed to unify anatomic and clinical pathology workflows.

Fusion integrates pathology teams, IT systems, and AI into a single platform to eliminate workflow silos and enhance diagnostic accuracy, advancing digital pathology.

The digital pathology platform was developed with experienced digital pathologists.

It facilitates collaboration on a unified platform and embeds AI-powered tools into clinical practice to optimise efficiency and improve patient outcomes.

Fusion integrates patient data, whole slide imaging, laboratory information systems (LIS), communication tools, and AI-powered diagnostics, enabling more informed diagnoses.

Techcyte CEO Ben Cahoon said: “We have successfully delivered over 5,000,000 clinical AI diagnoses to veterinary, environmental, and clinical pathology.

“By adding anatomic pathology to Fusion, we’re shaping what it means to have a complete, unified digital pathology platform.

“Fusion’s strength lies in uniting pathology practice stakeholders within a singular, AI-driven, workflow-first platform to improve efficiency and positively impact patient care.”

Fusion is a cloud-native SaaS solution built on industry standards, such as DICOM, FHIR, HL7, and DICOMWeb.

The solution can be easily integrated with LIS, EHR, slide scanners, and image management systems such as VNAs.

Its open architecture allows laboratories to incorporate third-party AI alongside Techcyte’s AI, enhancing workflow efficiency.

Digital pathology holds the potential to revolutionise diagnostic efficiency and accuracy, contingent on seamless AI integration within clinical workflows.

The Fusion platform unites AI, pathologists, and technology into a streamlined system.

It partners with AI vendors and equips labs with tools to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and diagnostic confidence, fulfilling the promise of digital pathology.

Techcyte chief medical officer Tiffany Chen said: “Pathology is going digital, but adoption has been hampered by proprietary systems, limited use of standards, and an insufficient focus on workflow.

“Fusion is fully committed to using standards to ensure customers have long-term, durable, portable data and systems.”
