Smart Meter has introduced the new iBloodPressure Classic blood pressure (BP) monitor for remote patient monitoring (RPM) and chronic care management (CCM).

Smart Meter, a company engaged in developing cellular RPM solutions, has developed iBloodPressure Classic as the first cellular-connected, multi-cuff BP monitor.

The monitor offers more precision, inclusivity, and access to comprehensive health insights for patients with chronic illnesses.

It overcomes the limitations of traditional single-cuff devices and meets the demands for effective RPM solutions, the company said.

The iBloodPressure Classic multi-cuff monitor will offer healthcare professionals deeper insights into blood pressure trends over time to manage chronic conditions and optimise care strategies.

The device has three cuffs crafted to accommodate arms ranging from 8.6 to 20.5 inches in diameter, covering a range of 11.9 inches.

It ensures that patients with arms of varying sizes can properly position the cuff for accurate readings, boosting the monitor’s versatility and reliability.

The advanced technology integrated into the multi-cuff system enhances the precision of readings, minimising errors that may result from improperly fitting cuffs or incorrect positioning.

It is equipped with advanced cellular connectivity for seamless RPM. This allows patients to transmit their blood pressure data to healthcare providers in real time, facilitating prompt interventions and personalised care adjustments.

In addition, the monitor has a simple one-button interface to simplify the process of taking readings for patients. Its user-friendly design ensures effective BP monitoring, supporting patient engagement and adherence.

The monitor offers comprehensive reporting and trend analysis to offer valuable insights into a patient’s blood pressure patterns.

Furthermore, it transmits the patient’s data using advanced encryption protocols over a dedicated RPM data network. This ensures the protection of sensitive information against unauthorised access.

Smart Meter CEO Casey Pittock said: “We listened carefully to our customers who serve tens of thousands of providers to develop this new version of our iBloodPressure Classic monitor that is now compatible with three different cuff sizes.”

The multi-cuff blood pressure monitor is available nationwide through Smart Meter’s authorised SmartPartners.

In the future, Smart Meter plans to expand its offerings in remote patient monitoring and chronic care management.

In May this year, the company launched a new version of the iGlucose, a cellular-enabled glucose meter with notifications and multi-language capabilities.
