DoseMe, a company focused on model-informed precision dosing (MIPD), has announced that Senior Care Partners (PACE) has adopted DoseMeRx to modernise vancomycin dosing.
The new system aligns with Area Under the Curve (AUC) guidelines.
This improves dosing accuracy and efficiency for three pharmacists managing 600 outpatients.
DoseMeRx was chosen after a comprehensive evaluation by PACE’s IT and leadership teams. Its IT security, backed by HITRUST certifications, and user-friendly interface supported the decision.
Senior Care Partners previously relied on trough-based dosing and manual calculations. The organisation aimed to streamline these processes and provide support to pharmacists with diverse experience levels.
DoseMe combines advanced technology with science, using clinically validated PK/PD models, patient data, drug concentrations, and genotype to personalise dosing in seconds.
In May last year, the MIPD provider filed the necessary application for a CE certificate for DoseMeRx.
DoseMe chief science and strategy officer Sharmeen Roy said: “DoseMeRx not only standardises reporting and documentation but also equips pharmacists with accessible resources for more confident decision-making.
“While Senior Care Partners (PACE) currently focuses on vancomycin dosing, the success of DoseMeRx lays the groundwork for expanding other therapeutic models as needed.”
The Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) offers comprehensive services, many provided onsite at Senior Care Partners (PACE) Centres.
Senior Care Partners (PACE) serves as an alternative to nursing home care, coordinating preventive, primary, acute, and long-term care services through an interdisciplinary care team. This includes physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, therapists, van drivers, and aides, helping older individuals live independently in the community.
Senior Care Partners (PACE) lead clinical pharmacist and pharmacy department leader Gianna Balazs said: “With infrequent cases requiring vancomycin dosing, we recognised the need for a standardised approach to improve consistency and confidence among our pharmacists.
“DoseMeRx provides a clear, precise methodology that reduces variability and enhances the quality of care we deliver to our patients.”
Recently, DoseMe announced that the University Medical Centre Ljubljana and the University Hospital of Maribor have implemented DoseMeRx to advance antimicrobial stewardship in Slovenia.
