HTEC, a global end-to-end digital product development and engineering services provider, has partnered with Podimetrics to develop advanced patient care technology.

Podimetrics is known for its SmartMat and provides comprehensive clinical and patient support services to transform the lives of individuals with complex diabetes.

Its advanced technology and personalised remote monitoring solutions are instrumental in preventing limb loss and improving patient outcomes.

Podimetrics is collaborating with HTEC to modernise its platform for more healthcare innovation and advanced patient care.

The partnership between the two companies will bolster Podimetrics’ status in the diabetic foot care sector.

It will upgrade its platform’s detection capabilities, minimising manual intervention, enhancing patient outcomes, and creating a more holistic approach to care.

HTEC machine learning tech lead Ognjen Milicevic said: “Working with Podimetrics is the type of collaboration HTEC thrives on — using our expertise to develop solutions with an immediate positive user impact.

“We’re excited to help Podimetrics refine its industry-leading platform with enhanced capabilities and features that improve patient outcomes.”

Podimetrics transforms diabetic foot care with smart technology. The firm works with health plans and providers like the Veterans Health Administration to prevent amputations in complex diabetes cases.

Its advanced technology, combined with clinical and patient support, boosts patient engagement and helps clinicians save limbs, lives, and money while keeping patients healthy at home.

In early 2022, the company raised $45m in a Series C round to help prevent diabetic amputations in high-risk patients.

Podimetrics’ SmartMat is a simple, at-home device where patients stand for 20 seconds daily. It detects temperature changes in the foot, which can signal early signs of inflammation and potential diabetic foot ulcers.

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-cleared SmartMat is remotely monitored by an in-house support team, which then connects with the patient and the patient’s provider in as close to real-time as possible.

Podimetrics chief data and technology officer Matt Oefinger said: “Our solution relies on algorithms that enable early detection and improve health outcomes for patients with diabetic foot problems.

“We’re excited to leverage HTEC’s expertise in data analytics and healthcare technology to improve the accuracy and efficiency of data.”
