Oceans Healthcare, a provider of inpatient and outpatient behavioural health services, has acquired Haven Behavioral Healthcare, a Nashville-based speciality behavioural health services provider.

The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 2006, Haven Behavioral Healthcare also offers acute inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care and related services.

The programmes are suited for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients with customised protocols for each age group.

This acquisition adds seven behavioural health hospitals and outpatient services to Oceans Healthcare’s expanding network.

The expansion brings Oceans Healthcare into five new states, Arizona, Idaho, Ohio, New Mexico, and Pennsylvania.

Oceans Healthcare CEO Stuart Archer said: “Our organisations share an almost 40-year legacy of high-quality care and commitment to our patients.

“Together we will be able to accomplish much more than we could independently.

“Oceans has consistently sought opportunities that would expand our ability to provide access to care for at-risk populations in underserved communities.

“Haven has had a similar mission, and we are honoured to welcome them to our Oceans family.”

In the last 18 months, Oceans Healthcare has expanded into nine new markets, focusing on intensive outpatient programmes for all age groups, from adolescents to seniors.

Since 2014, the organisation has grown steadily through partnerships with academic medical centres and de novo facility development.

With the acquisition of Haven Behavioral Healthcare, the outpatient behavioural health services provider now operates 48 facilities across nine states, supported by a workforce of approximately 4,000 employees.

Haven Behavioral Healthcare CEO Kelly Gill said: “Our health systems have always shared similarities in services, markets, populations served and, most importantly, in mission.

“From our earliest conversations, it was clear that bringing our organisations together would result in something greater than the sum of its parts.

“We are proud to move forward with this opportunity and to ensure greater access to quality mental health care, greater opportunity for recovery and greater hope.”

Oceans Healthcare aims to expand access to care in Haven’s communities, empower local teams to improve care delivery, and continue offering life-saving services to vulnerable individuals.
