Novobeing, an immersive patient experience platform, has entered into a partnership with Brink XR, an immersive travel application available on the Meta Quest platform.
The objective of the partnership is to deliver immersive nature experiences to healthcare settings.
Brink XR’s primary application, Brink Traveler, is said to have transported hundreds of thousands of users to renowned destinations around the world. The application is designed to provide a high level of immersion through virtual reality/augmented reality (VR/AR), web, and mobile platforms, offering a transformative way to explore famous landmarks.
Destinations such as Hifoss Waterfall in Iceland, Pulpit Rock in Norway, and Peña Ezkaurre in Spain are depicted with striking realism, enhancing the user’s virtual journey.
The company employs proprietary photogrammetry techniques, combining high-resolution aerial drone photography with land-based images captured by tripod-mounted cameras. This method results in highly realistic models of real-world locations, which are further enriched with detailed interactions.
Elements such as the flight of a bird or the sound of a waterfall are incorporated to create a truly immersive experience.
Novobeing’s platform uses advanced VR and AR technology to improve patient care by providing immersive experiences designed to alleviate anxiety, stress, and pain.
The platform’s interactive programmes, which include meditation, breathwork, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and positive psychology, will now feature virtual escapes to tranquil nature settings. This integration aims to foster a calming and restorative environment in healthcare settings, enhancing patient well-being and offering clinical and economic benefits.
Brink XR founder Akin Bilgic said: “Our team is incredibly excited to share the healing power of nature with patients in hospitals.
“Our partnership with Novobeing perfectly aligns with our mission to bring the beauty of the world to everyone, and we are looking forward to virtually taking more people to the world’s most breathtaking natural wonders.”
Last month, Novobeing partnered with Positron Voyager, a California-based VR entertainment company. This partnership, secured through an exclusive licence, grants Novobeing access to Positron’s acclaimed VR content library and the ability to use existing 3D assets for new immersive wellness experiences.
It expands Novobeing’s offerings, integrating new immersive experiences designed to entertain and engage users alongside its existing therapeutic, meditation, and breathwork programmes.
