South Korea-based cancer diagnostics company Lunit has secured a five-year contract with Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), the UAE’s largest healthcare network.

Lunit will deploy its AI-powered mammography analysis solution Lunit INSIGHT MMG, across SEHA’s 14 hospitals and over 70 primary healthcare and ambulatory care clinics.

The collaboration follows SEHA’s proof-of-concept evaluation of Lunit INSIGHT MMG’s performance in 2022, which yielded promising results.

Over the next five years, the AI solution is expected to analyse more than 100,000 mammography images, bolstering breast cancer screening efforts across the UAE.

SEHA, part of PureHealth, plays a crucial role in the UAE’s healthcare system, offering services from the capital to remote areas.

The adoption of Lunit’s AI technology aligns with SEHA’s mission to utilise advanced AI-driven solutions in medical imaging and supports national initiatives for early cancer detection.

Lunit CEO Brandon Suh said: “The UAE represents a key market in Lunit’s global expansion, and we are thrilled to further strengthen our collaboration with SEHA.

“This long-term partnership underscores the trust SEHA places in our AI-driven solutions and reflects our shared commitment to advancing breast cancer screening and early detection.

“By leveraging Lunit’s cutting-edge AI, SEHA can enhance its radiology workflow, ultimately improving patient outcomes.”

Last year, Lunit partnered with Salud Digna, a Mexico-based medical network group, to advance artificial intelligence (AI) in medical imaging.

The partnership will bring Lunit’s advanced AI medical imaging solutions to over 230 Salud Digna clinics across Mexico and Central America.
