Lunit has partnered with Salud Digna, a Mexico-based medical network group, to advance artificial intelligence (AI) in medical imaging.

The partnership will bring Lunit’s advanced AI medical imaging solutions to over 230 Salud Digna clinics across Mexico and Central America.

Lunit is a provider of AI-powered solutions for cancer diagnostics and therapeutics.

The partnership focuses on two of Lunit’s flagship products, Lunit INSIGHT CXR, an AI-powered chest X-ray analysis solution, and Lunit INSIGHT MMG, an AI software for mammography analysis.

These advanced tools are designed to enhance diagnostic capabilities at Salud Digna, which treats approximately 20 million patients annually.

As part of the arrangement, the medical imaging solutions provider will gain access to Salud Digna’s database, which includes millions of deidentified 2D mammography and chest X-ray images.

This valuable data will enable Lunit to refine its AI algorithms, with a focus on improving solutions for the Latin American market.

Salud Digna CEO Juan Carlos Ordoñez said: “By integrating Lunit’s advanced AI into our healthcare network, we aim to improve the accuracy and efficiency of our imaging services.

“Together, we are committed to leveraging our extensive data resources to drive innovation in medical imaging and ultimately improve patient care across the region.”

Both partners will work together on joint research projects, using shared data to advance medical imaging AI technology.

The collaboration aims to demonstrate its positive impact on healthcare delivery in Mexico and throughout Latin America.

Lunit CEO Brandon Suh said: “This multifaceted partnership with Salud Digna marks a milestone in our global expansion and our mission to improve patient outcomes through AI.

“By combining our cutting-edge AI technology with Salud Digna’s vast clinical experience and extensive patient data, we’re not just supplying software, we’re collaborating to advance medical imaging AI technology tailored to the needs of patients in Mexico and potentially the broader Latin American region.”

In July this year, the medical imaging company deployed its AI-powered breast cancer detection solution, Lunit INSIGHT MMG, under Qatar’s national breast cancer screening programme.
