US-based IT infrastructure services provider Kyndryl has partnered with Microsoft to adopt and deploy Microsoft’s new AI-powered healthcare assistant, Dragon Copilot.
The collaboration aims to enhance clinical documentation, improve administrative efficiency, and allow healthcare professionals to concentrate more on patient care.
Dragon Copilot, powered by generative AI, employs voice dictation, ambient listening, and natural language capabilities to automate documentation and administrative tasks.
The solution is expected to optimise each patient encounter by reducing the administrative burden on healthcare providers, thereby increasing clinician efficiency.
The AI assistant will streamline workflows by surfacing relevant information, creating ambient notes, and providing encounter recording suggestions without interrupting the workflow.
As part of Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare, Dragon Copilot prioritises the security, safety, and privacy of patient data.
Its focus on security ensures that healthcare providers can trust the system with sensitive information while benefiting from its advanced capabilities.
This integration aims to enhance patient experiences by allowing clinicians to focus on patient interaction rather than administrative tasks.
Microsoft US health and life sciences CVP Patty Carrolo said: “With their vast experience in healthcare IT services, Kyndryl has been selected as a launch partner for Dragon Copilot.
“Kyndryl understands patient care and supports large and small healthcare providers and payers globally.
“Kyndryl’s services capability combined with Microsoft’s AI-enabled solutions will deliver innovative solutions that improve patient and member experiences while optimizing healthcare operations.”
Kyndryl will offer Dragon Copilot as a key solution in its healthcare services portfolio starting May 2025.
The company’s expert team will provide support and implementation services to help healthcare organisations seamlessly integrate Dragon Copilot into their existing systems.
Kyndryl US healthcare and life sciences vice president Trent Sanders said: “Today’s announcement marks a significant milestone in Kyndryl’s commitment to optimising clinical workflows and improving patient care by deploying mission-critical AI technology.
“We’re thrilled to be a Microsoft launch partner as we work to address clinician burnout and improve the overall healthcare experience.
“By automating routine tasks to unlock insights, we can empower and help clinicians reclaim valuable time to spend with their patients.”
