Konica Minolta Healthcare has unveiled the latest version of its Exa PACS|RIS platform, featuring a new API designed to integrate seamlessly with strategic partners.

The move aims to enhance the core Exa PACS|RIS system by integrating with top-tier partner solutions, thereby creating a cohesive ecosystem that optimises customer success.

The updated Exa PACS|RIS includes Exa Advanced Imaging, which offers improved Multi Planar Reconstruction (MPR) and 3D image reconstruction and segmentation.

The features are integrated into the Exa viewer, enabling clinicians to access advanced functionalities without leaving the platform, to simplify workflows and focus on patient care.

In addition, the Exa PACS|RIS ecosystem incorporates NewVue, a cloud-native, AI-powered radiologist worklist and workflow orchestrator.

Konica Minolta HCIT product management executive director Matthew Andersen said: “With this latest version of the Exa Platform, Konica Minolta delivers immediate benefits to our customers while at the same time delivering a platform for the future.

“Confident diagnosis requires more than a single imaging study—it demands the right information, in the right place, at the right time.

“Our next-generation Exa PACS|RIS delivers powerful clinical and workflow tools, transforming data into actionable insights for smarter decision-making.”

The launch of new Exa PACS|RIS follows the release of Exa Enterprise in November 2024.

Exa Enterprise, developed in partnership with Apollo Enterprise Imaging, integrates PACS and a Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA).

It also features a universal viewer across specialties, enhancing workflow, image viewing, and archiving capabilities for radiologists and other specialists.

The ecosystem also includes Clearpath Technologies’ automated platform for digital sharing of records and images, and Quinsite’s analytics platform, which provides healthcare organisations with actionable insights for informed decision-making.

Last year, Konica Minolta Healthcare Americas partnered with Fovia, an advanced visualisation and cloud-based imaging company.

Through the partnership, Konica Minolta aims to integrate Fovia’s advanced visualisation technology into its cloud-based Exa PACS.
