Huntsville Hospital Health System (HH Health) has expanded its collaboration with Oracle Health to improve patient care and enhance operational efficiency across its network.
The strategic move aims to optimise the health system’s capabilities in delivering quality healthcare to its patient population.
HH Health will widen the use of Oracle Health Foundation’s electronic health record (EHR) across all facilities and implement Oracle Health Data Intelligence.
The non-profit health system will gain deeper insights into the health of its patients while improving financial performance.
Oracle Health and Life Sciences executive vice president and general manager Seema Verma said: “HH Health’s strategic choice to expand its long-standing relationship with Oracle Health speaks volumes about the shared vision, trust, and success we have achieved over the years.
“Collaborating closely with customers like HH Health is critical as we evolve our technology to better meet the needs of clinicians and patients.”
The US-based health system aims to standardise Oracle Health’s EHR to ensure a seamless experience for both patients and providers as they transition between facilities.
The EHR was successfully launched at Helen Keller Hospital and Red Bay Hospital last year, with implementation already in place at 41 physician practices and clinics.
Clinicians at Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children, and Madison Hospital have been using the EHR since 2019
The service will be further implemented in more hospitals and facilities in the coming years.
With the implementation, Oracle Health technology will integrate throughout the network, allowing caregivers and staff to manage patient health more effectively.
The EHR provides a consistent user experience and a unified patient history, enhancing documentation processes and informing care decisions while simplifying patient follow-up.
In addition to the EHR, HH Health plans to leverage Oracle Health Data Intelligence later this year, to optimise care plans, enhance patient engagement, and increase reimbursements.
Built on the security and scalability of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle Health Data Intelligence is an EHR-agnostic suite of cloud infrastructure, analytics, and applications.
It allows various healthcare and government stakeholders to use data from across the healthcare ecosystem without the complexities of integrating disparate systems.
It features a fully managed intelligent data lake with built-in AI and analytics capabilities, for diverse use cases, including population health strategies and value-based care optimisation.
Huntsville Hospital Health System vice president and chief information officer Rick Corn said: “We’ve selected Oracle Health as our primary healthcare technology collaborator to help us fulfil our vision of implementing an integrated patient chart to add to the quality of care, improve patient safety, and enhance continuity of care across our health system.
“Our community-based hospitals are a necessary resource to address the unique challenges within their patient populations, many located in rural and underserved areas.
“This collaboration helps to unify our network, will standardise technology, and allows us to more easily adopt innovative technologies so our facilities can function as one and remain valuable resources to each of their communities.”
