Fuse Oncology has joined forces with The American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO) to commercialise ACROPath, a clinical pathways platform for radiation oncology.
The partnership will see Fuse Oncology develop a dedicated application that integrates ACRO’s evidence-based pathways into its product offerings to improve clinical workflows and patient management.
ACRO president Dwight Heron said: “Clinical pathways are more critical than ever, providing a structured approach to ensure safe, consistent patient care while improving access to groundbreaking clinical trials.
“With ACROPath integrated into Fuse’s solutions, radiation oncologists across settings will be able to seamlessly apply the necessary tools to optimize cancer treatment outcomes. ACROPath reinforces our commitment to supporting radiation oncologists in the mission to continually improve the lives of patients with cancer.”
The integration of ACROPath into Fuse Oncology’s software will enable radiation oncology practitioners to access the most current evidence-based treatment protocols directly within their daily operational tools. This feature is designed to facilitate clinical decision support for healthcare professionals.
The guidelines provided by ACROPath will be made available in a digital format that is standardised to ensure alignment with established best practices. This initiative is intended to offer reliable support to clinicians at the point of care by utilising integrated technologies and clinical pathways.
Cone Health radiation oncologist and Fuse clinical liaison board head Matthew Manning said: “As ACROPath is accessible to radiation oncology clinics through Fuse’s user-friendly application, there will be a significant impact on facilities, clinicians, and patients.
“Clinicians will gain real-time decision support based on ACRO’s validated pathways with no disruption to their workflow, ensuing consistency with current best practices,”
“This tool can fulfil the five rights of CDS: the right information to the right person in the right format through the right channel at the right time. ACROPath integration into Fuse can reduce care variation and increase quality while improving physician efficiency.”
Radiation oncology clinics are expected to utilise ACROPath to enhance their operational efficiency and maintain quality control. The platform will assist these departments in meeting national standards, improving coordination among multidisciplinary teams, and tracking patient outcomes more effectively.
