Force Therapeutics has announced a strategic collaboration with ECU Health, a not-for-profit hospital system, to enhance patient engagement through digital care solutions.

The partnership aims to standardise care pathways, automate the collection of patient-reported outcome measurements (PROMs), and optimise remote care.

Also, it will reduce readmissions and support compliance with the Centres for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

The collaboration provides ECU Health with an advanced patient engagement platform designed to improve preoperative optimisation and deliver remote education.

The initiative is in line with ECU Health’s mission to enhance the health and well-being of patients in eastern North Carolina.

ECU Health Service Lines vice president Dustin Allis said: “As part of our commitment to deliver high-quality patient care experiences across eastern North Carolina, we are excited to collaborate with Force Therapeutics to augment our world-class in-person care with effective remote and digital care technology solutions.”

ECU Health Arthroplasty director Jeffery Garrett said: “We are able to create better health outcomes and more efficient operations by equipping our providers with the tools they need to enhance care provision and fulfil CMS mandates while also empowering patients with the tools and information they need to actively engage in their recovery.”

Force Therapeutics will assist ECU Health in automating patient data collection and PROMs to meet quality improvement goals, ensure CMS compliance.

The platform also helps maintain Joint Commission accreditation and facilitates participation in the American Joint Replacement Registry (AJRR).

The digital care solution will enhance at-home recovery through intelligent digital instructions, video-based education, and virtual physical therapy.

In addition, it will automate the care journey with virtual joint classes, smart alerts, and customisable watch lists, thereby optimising provider time.

Through the integration of remote patient monitoring and education, the collaboration aims to reduce readmissions and complications throughout the surgical episode of care.

Force Therapeutics client success and strategy head Dawna Newman said: “We are excited to collaborate with ECU Health to drive innovation and further the implementation of quality-focused care.

“Our platform is built to supplement in-person care with digital tools to boost patient engagement and satisfaction with clinically validated remote care.”
