US-based theranostics and molecular imaging centre Florida Theranostics has installed United Imaging’s uMI Panorama digital PET/CT scanner at its new facility in Jupiter, Florida.

United Imaging is a China-based medical imaging technology company specialised in advanced digital healthcare solutions.

Its uMI Panorama digital PET/CT scanner combines the functional insights of a PET scan with the anatomical precision of a CT scan.

The non-invasive technique enables physicians to detect and monitor various medical conditions, including cancer, more effectively.

It offers high resolution for early lesion detection, a large bore and high weight capacity to meet diverse patient needs, and ultra-fast whole-body scanning at low doses.

In addition, the AI-enabled workflow and 3D camera enhance patient positioning and the large axial field of view and 160-slice CT provide high-quality images.

United Imaging Healthcare North America CEO Jeffrey Bundy said: “PET/CT scans provide a potentially lifesaving level of detail that can be crucial for early diagnosis and effective treatment planning.

“We’re proud that our digital PET/CT has been selected by such an outstanding team to support their mission in Florida.”

Last year, Florida Theranostics’ facility received the Radiopharmaceutical Therapy Center of Excellence designation from the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging.

The new theranostics centre is the only such facility in South Florida, dedicated to delivering a comprehensive treatment experience to the local community.

“Florida Theranostics is built upon the foundation of precision medicine, committed to delivering efficient, precise, and empathetic treatment to every patient we serve.

“Our goal is to be at the forefront of the radioligand therapy and molecular imaging field of medicine, establishing ourselves as a top leader in the south Florida region.

“We believe leveraging cutting-edge technology such as the United Imaging uMI Panorama PET/CT will bring us closer to achieving that goal.”

Earlier this year, Florida Theranostics installed Spectrum Dynamics Medical’s VERITON-CT 400 digital SPECT/CT imaging technology at the new Florida facility.
