The Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. (CHCC) has adopted MEDITECH Expanse, an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, to enhance patient care throughout its organisation.
The strategic move aims to ensure seamless information sharing across all care facilities, including health centres on Tinian and Rota islands.
MEDITECH Expanse EHR offers CHCC a unified patient record, accessible on mobile devices, enabling clinicians to document care in real time.
The functionality facilitates more meaningful interactions and increases the time clinicians spend with patients, improving overall care quality.
The system provides a comprehensive view of a patient’s health history and supports healthcare decision-making.
MEDITECH executive director Gina Kerley said: “We are proud to partner with Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation to modernise their EHR and support patient-centred care across their island community.
“We share their vision to provide accessible, equitable, and valuable healthcare to the communities they serve to elevate the patient experience and improve outcomes across the care continuum.”
CHCC CMO John Tudela said: “CHCC is not only improving efficiency behind the scenes, but also creating a better and more consistent experience for our patients, whether they receive care at the hospital, a clinic, or one of our outer island health centres.”
CHCC’s healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and clinicians, will have instant access to patient records, such as test results, allergies, and diagnoses.
The Expanse EHR includes built-in safety features for accurate medication management and real-time alerts, allowing swift responses to changes in patient conditions.
Its adoption aligns with CHCC’s strategic commitment to a patient-centred healthcare model, prioritising individual needs and strengthening care coordination across its network.
The system’s advanced capabilities, including AI-driven clinical decision support and predictive analytics, help identify high-risk patients earlier and expedite care plans.
The enhancements are crucial in CHCC’s efforts to reduce wait times, improve early detection, and standardise care quality within the community.
CHCC CEO Esther Muña said “We know how important it is for our families to get the right care without delays or confusion.
“Expanse will help our doctors and nurses see the full picture, so they can spend more time with patients and less time chasing down records.”
