California-based Avive Solutions has introduced a new automated external defibrillator (AED) feature QuickRescue to transform emergency responses.
QuickRescue is designed to share vital AED data with public safety during sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) emergencies.
The feature makes the Avive Connect AED the first to automatically transmit real-time incident data to 911 telecommunicators. This innovation helps first responders prepare better to respond to SCA situations.
According to Avive Solutions, QuickRescue advances cardiac arrest response with improved connectivity and real-time data sharing to help improve the chain of survival during SCA events.
When the Avive Connect AED is activated, its electrode pads are placed on a suspected cardiac emergency patient. The device then starts transmitting crucial information.
The device location helps responders find the scene quickly. An event timeline tracks the time since activation and the AED’s current state, enhancing the situational awareness of the first responders.
QuickRescue also provides shock information which contains details on the number and type of shocks delivered, along with the patient’s current condition.
Furthermore, the AED feature has a patient status option that offers insights into public safety and prepares a suitable care plan.
This data is transmitted instantly via the RapidSOS public safety platform ensuring that 911 operators can relay real-time information to emergency teams before they arrive on the scene. As a result, the team can act swiftly and decisively, increasing the chances of a positive outcome, Avive Solutions said.
Avive Solutions president Rory Beyer said: “This new feature gives first responders critical information in near real-time, enabling them to perform more effectively and efficiently in the crucial moments following a Sudden Cardiac Arrest.
“We’re not just providing an AED; we’re offering a complete, connected response and data solution that can mean the difference between life and death.”
The AED technology firm has partnered with RapidSOS, an intelligent safety platform, to ensure that QuickRescue data reaches 911 dashboards across the country.
The partnership addresses a crucial gap in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) emergency response, the company said.
It also advances the use of connected technology to improve emergency interventions for SCA.
Furthermore, QuickRescue aims to boost survival rates for out-of-hospital cardiac arrest emergencies.
In April this year, Avive Solutions closed a $56.5m growth equity financing round, led by Questa Capital, Laerdal Million Lives Fund (LMLF), and Catalyst Health Ventures.
