American Family Care (AFC), an urgent care provider in the US, has expanded its operations in the New England region with the acquisition of new clinics.
AFC has acquired five Physician One Urgent Care clinics in the Boston area.
The expansion will enhance AFC’s mission to provide accessible and affordable healthcare to Massachusetts residents.
With nearly 400 walk-in clinics nationwide, American Family Care offers urgent care services.
American Family Care CEO Jeremy Morgan said: “At AFC, one of our primary goals is to empower local operators to deliver high-quality care to their communities.
“We are excited to expand our presence in New England and to ensure that patients throughout Massachusetts will receive convenient and cost-effective healthcare.”
American Family Care has acquired urgent care centres in Attleboro, Chestnut Hill, Franklin, Medford, and Waltham. The centres will be run by Dave Adams and Kristina Orio, both US military veterans and Boston-area residents.
The new centres expand AFC’s network in Massachusetts, joining 30 existing locations.
The deal is expected to increase access to convenient care for patients, providing an alternative to emergency room visits.
The centres will be open daily, offering timely and comprehensive care for various conditions.
Dave Adams said: “For more than a decade, AFC urgent care clinics have served countless Boston area residents with accessible and affordable healthcare.
“We are excited to expand our care and compassion to even more patients in the region through the acquisition of these five locations.”
The acquisition supports AFC’s mission to expand access to quality urgent care nationwide. It will also support the urgent care provider to improve healthcare in local communities across the country.
Kristina Orio said: “Now, more patients in the region can access high-quality, affordable care close to home and work.
“Together, Dave and I are committed to continuing to set the standard for high quality urgent care in the region.”
American Family Care has over $1bn in annual sales. Employing 3,500 healthcare professionals, the healthcare provider treats more than four million patients each year.
AFC offers treatment for flu, allergies, injuries, and provides lab tests, x-rays, and occupational medicine services.
In October 2024, the urgent care provider acquired three Urgent Medcare locations from CRH Healthcare.
