Allstate Health Solutions, the Accident & Health division of Allstate, has partnered with Thatch and Ambetter Health to expand its product offerings with Intuit QuickBooks.
Thatch is a financial technology platform for personalised healthcare, and Ambetter Health is a health insurer offering on-exchange plans under the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
The collaboration will launch a new offering, dubbed Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangements (ICHRA).
ICHRA will allow businesses to reimburse employees, tax-free, for individual health insurance premiums and medical expenses through off-exchange plans.
It will also enable employers to select solutions customised to their employee’s needs, by providing access to different flexible, personal and cost-effective health plans.
Allstate Health Solutions president Aaron Goddard said: “Allstate Health Solutions is committed to helping people find the coverage they need for peace of mind.
“This includes empowering business owners with affordable small-group health options. Offering ICHRA is the next step in that commitment, and we’re excited to collaborate with our partners to support the evolving needs of today’s workforce.”
Thatch CEO Chris Ellis said: “With the employer setting a budget, Thatch takes care of the rest, managing every aspect of healthcare administration, streamlining operations, reducing complexity and delivering value.”
Under the collaboration, Ambetter Health will also roll out a new product, dubbed Ambetter Health Solutions, to help employees using ICHRA access marketplace health plans.
The new solution allows Intuit QuickBooks customers using payroll subscription services to access Allstate Health Solutions’ group health insurance platform.
The platform provides diverse coverage options, including Association plans, ACA alternative plans, ACA plans, and Ambetter Health plans, offered by subsidiaries of Centene Corp.
Ambetter Health Solutions is planned to be launched in 2025, initially in select states in the US, with plans to expand the product to other states in the future.
The limited-release states include Georgia, Indiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio and South Carolina.
Furthermore, the collaboration will also offer Ambetter Health’s pre-tax off-exchange health plans to Intuit QuickBooks’ employer groups.
Ambetter Health chief operating officer Katherine Kirby said: “ICHRA is an important vehicle for expanding access to affordable healthcare coverage.
“This partnership allows Ambetter Health to provide new options for employers and expand the options of high quality and affordable benefit plans employees can choose from.”
