Health On Cloud (HOC) has announced the global expansion of its advanced metaverse medical consultation platform CURISALL, together with its medical education platform MEDTIS.
The metaverse platform will be expanded to Kazakhstan, Colombia, and other Latin American countries in 2024, to enable remote medical and educational services.
The South Korea-based healthcare solutions provider is focused on deploying a globally connected Virtual University Hospital consisting of Meta-Versity, and Cloud Hospital.
HOC intends to introduce its CLOUD HOSPITAL and META-VERSITY in Colombia as part of a collaborative Feasibility Study involving local medical institutions and global industry partners.
It aims to ensure the health of the country’s citizens and enhance its healthcare capabilities, thereby contributing to the country’s long-term well-being.
The study is planned to be extended beyond Colombia, into neighbouring countries.
Health On Cloud chief innovation officer (CIO) Mike Dowding said: “Leveraging metaverse technology for remote medical and educational services holds tremendous potential, particularly in rural communities of developing countries with limited access to high-quality healthcare services.”
HOC aims to extend its impact through MEDTIS, a cloud-based educational platform offering specialised courses in oncology, cardiology, and neuroscience.
The platform will leverage extended reality technology and will also provide virtual reality medical training for healthcare professionals.
It aims to integrate the metaverse and healthcare on a global scale to provide an opportunity for individuals worldwide to receive top-notch medical treatment.
To support the initiative, Asian Society of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery president Sanghoon Jheon founded the Smart Hospital Alliance.
Seoul National University Hospital Group and Asan Medical Centre in South Korea, along with institutions in the UK, Singapore, and the US, include the other participants.
Jheon added: “Beyond remote consultations, personalized medical advice, and innovative educational initiatives, Health On Cloud is committed to supporting transformative projects in simulation centres, advancing research in tropical disease genomics, and pioneering early cancer detection.”
