US-based virtual care solutions provider AvaSure has acquired Nurse Disrupted, a nurse-founded virtual nursing platform, to expand its hospital and home-based care capabilities.

Nurse Disrupted’s platform enables rapid deployment of virtual nursing solutions to help healthcare providers achieve measurable ROI through improved efficiency and cost savings.

As part of the acquisition, Nurse Disrupted founder Bre Loughlin will be appointed as executive director of AvaSure’s Virtual Care Innovation division.

Bre Loughlin’s expertise would support AvaSure’s goal to enhance virtual care capabilities, optimise workflows, and improve patient safety.

AvaSure CEO Adam McMullin said: “AvaSure is dedicated to delivering clinically led virtual care solutions that empower healthcare providers and improve patient outcomes.

“Bringing Nurse Disrupted into our portfolio aligns perfectly with our mission, allowing us to expand our support for hospitals and health systems with innovative, scalable virtual care capabilities.”

Nurse Disrupted founder Bre Loughlin said: “The synergy between Nurse Disrupted and AvaSure is undeniable.

“Both platforms are built with caregivers in mind, ensuring that virtual nursing is not just a technology solution, but a true extension of clinical care. Together, we can bring even more impactful solutions to hospitals.”

AvaSure offers an AI-powered, integrated platform that combines virtual care into patient interactions, enhancing the care team experience.

The platform supports comprehensive virtual care workflows, addressing enterprise IT standards and driving measurable outcomes.

It is AvaSure’s second acquisition in the last nine months, following the purchase of Smart Room AI technology from visual monitoring and signage solution provider Ouva.

The move aims to support healthcare providers in deploying advanced, AI-powered virtual care solutions to meet modern healthcare demands.

Boston, Massachusetts-based Tufts Medical Center will collaborate with AvaSure to integrate Nurse Disrupted into AvaSure’s platform.

Tufts Medical Center patient care services senior vice president Therese Hudson-Jinks said: “AvaSure and Nurse Disrupted each bring deep expertise in virtual care, and together, they are creating a solution designed to leverage the impact of our care teams while keeping patients at the centre.

“We’re excited to work with them to integrate these innovations and deliver a more intuitive, efficient and impactful virtual nursing experience—one that truly supports frontline caregivers and enhances patient care.”
