Connecticut Children’s has expanded its collaboration with Xerox to enhance paediatric healthcare using advanced artificial intelligence (AI) solutions.
The health system delivers high-quality care across over 30 paediatric specialties in more than 40 locations in Connecticut, Eastern New York, and Western Massachusetts.
Through the expanded partnership, Connecticut Children’s aims to streamline care delivery and improve patient outcomes.
Also, Xerox will expand its role as an IT services partner by serving as the sole print technology provider for Connecticut Children’s new clinical tower, set to open in late 2025.
Connecticut Children’s chief operating officer Bob Duncan said: “Embracing advanced AI technologies allows us to give our caregivers the most precious resource of all—more time with their patients.
“By adopting these innovative tools thoughtfully and strategically, Connecticut Children’s is reimagining paediatric healthcare, ensuring that the children and families of Connecticut and the region have access to a health system that is embracing technological advancements.”
Xerox, a long-standing partner for Connecticut Children’s, is developing AI-driven solutions targeting emergency department, paediatric oncology, and census forecasting.
In the emergency department, its AI-enabled recommendations help nurses by analysing data from similar cases to suggest necessary supplies and medications for regular procedures.
The approach will save time and ensure resources are quickly available to patients, families, and physicians.
In paediatric oncology, Xerox’s AI tools will use Connecticut Children’s research on cardiotoxicity related to cancer treatments.
The tools will help providers identify at-risk patients early, facilitating preventative actions that improve long-term outcomes for young patients.
Xerox’s AI-driven predictive analytics will enhance census forecasting, delivering more accurate patient volume predictions, optimised resource allocation, cost efficiency, and improved patient care.
