Oracle has announced major updates to the Oracle Health Data Intelligence platform to improve care quality, operational efficiency, and financial performance.

The new enhancements leverage the military-grade security of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and the latest artificial intelligence (AI) innovations, said the company.

The goal is to help healthcare organisations improve patient care, optimise economic performance, and enhance decision-making across their networks.

The platform integrates patient data from diverse sources like clinical, claims, social determinants, pharmacy, and more, to provide patient insight across back office and point-of-care workflows.

This Electronic Health Record (EHR)-agnostic suite combines cloud infrastructure, analytics, and applications, allowing healthcare and government stakeholders to leverage data across the ecosystem.

Oracle Health and Life Sciences executive vice president and general manager Seema Verma said: “Oracle Health Data Intelligence works with any EHR and we are proud to make this available to all health systems.

“This not only eliminates the blind spots resulting from data silos, it also uses advances in AI to enable healthcare organisations to be more predictive and proactive in their approach to care plans and reporting.”

The technology company has updated three pillars of the health data platform to support healthcare stakeholders. The pillars include Oracle Health Clinical Intelligence, Oracle Health Analytics Intelligence and Oracle Health Care Coordination Intelligence.

Key enhancements in the health data platform include improved tracking of value-based care contracts, AI prioritisation for patient outreach, and a companion app for closing care gaps.

Additionally, its expanded reporting feature helps identify care options, while a new cloud solution simplifies compliance. Updated analytics improve understanding of costs and performance for chronic conditions.

Oracle Health Analytics Intelligence is a modern data warehouse and analytics platform. It helps accelerate decision-making, creates patient records and delivers insights via reports and analytics tools.

It has a new natural language reporting for users, emergency department order analysis to reduce wait times, screening for social determinants of health, and antimicrobial stewardship insights to enhance care outcomes.

Oracle Health Care Coordination Intelligence enhances collaboration among care teams, boosts patient engagement, and improves overall patient experiences.

It now offers AI summaries for faster case reviews and on-demand access to supplemental clinical and medical records.

Recently, the American technology company introduced its next-generation AI-driven EHR to improve care delivery.
