Canada-based FluidAI Medical has partnered with Mayo Clinic Platform_Discover to develop artificial intelligence (AI)-driven postoperative monitoring solutions.

FluidAI, formerly NERv Technology, is a medical technology company. It leverages AI for the early detection of postoperative complications.

The partnership is intended to access de-identified clinical data through Mayo Clinic Platform_Discover.

It will help FluidAI speed up the development of predictive models. These models aim to enhance clinical decision-making and improve patient outcomes.

FluidAI’s Stream Platform is a software suite that uses AI to analyse data from various sources.

It provides a comprehensive view of a patient’s condition and alerts surgeons to potential complications and risks before and after surgery.

The platform integrates data from sensors, including FluidAI’s Origin sensor platform, along with detailed medical records. This real-time analysis helps physicians predict clinical outcomes effectively.

Mayo Clinic Platform_Discover provides AI solution developers access to a wide range of de-identified clinical data, including demographics, diagnoses, imaging, lab results, clinical notes, and pathology reports.

The diverse data set allows FluidAI to create predictive models based on real-world retrospective data, speeding up model development.

FluidAI chief technology officer Abdallah El-Falou said: “Working with Mayo Clinic Platform_Discover accelerates our ability to develop and validate predictive models.

“Clinicians who have experienced the benefits of our work on leak prediction are eager to see how our expanded capabilities will transform postoperative recovery.

“This collaboration empowers our team of in-house clinicians and data scientists to focus entirely on driving innovation in patient care.”

This partnership supports the Canadian medical technology firm’s dedication to implementing advanced AI solutions in real-world clinical settings. It empowers healthcare providers with the tools needed for more precise and effective care.

Last month, FluidAI announced a consortium to launch the Postoperative Patient Management Platform (PPMP) to enhance postoperative care using advanced AI and machine learning technologies in Canada.

In October last year, FluidAI Medical raised $15m in a Series A funding round.
