Ozarks Healthcare has partnered with Avo, formerly known as AvoMD, to integrate artificial intelligence (AI)-powered decision support in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Under the partnership, Avo’s AI clinical decision support platform will be integrated into Ozarks Healthcare’s MEDITECH EHR system.
The collaboration is expected to streamline clinician workflows and enhance patient care in Ozarks Healthcare, a comprehensive system with a 114-bed acute care hospital and several speciality clinics.
The partnership will lower clinician burnout and improve care quality by utilising Avo’s AI tools, including AI Scribe, Chart Synopsis & Care Guide, and Ask Avo.
Ask Avo, a customisable AI consult tool EHR systems, was launched by Avo last month.
These features will help Ozarks Healthcare clinicians with real-time transcription, patient snapshots, care gap identification, and evidence-based clinical consultations.
Ozarks Healthcare chief medical information officer Priscilla Frase said: “At Ozarks Healthcare, our mission is to deliver high-tech services across many specialities so patients can stay close to home while receiving the care they need.
“We were actively searching for a technology partner that would enable us to help our clinicians deliver excellent care while also improving their well-being.”
The collaboration will also advance healthcare delivery within the MEDITECH EHR landscape.
Ozarks Healthcare joins thousands of healthcare systems worldwide using MEDITECH’s EHR.
Avo offers several key functionalities for clinicians. AI Scribe enables real-time transcription of patient-provider interactions in multiple languages, pulling patient information from the EHR and evidence-based guidelines.
Chart Synopsis & Care Guide allows clinicians to access a patient snapshot in an easy-to-view format, highlighting any missed care gaps.
Ask Avo empowers clinicians to pose clinical questions within the EHR systems, providing responses based on a holistic view of the patient and evidence-based guidelines.
This feature also enables time-saving actions, such as drafting notes, creating differential diagnoses, and placing orders.
Avo co-founder, chairman and product head Joongheum Park said: “We are thrilled to partner with Ozarks Healthcare, a system that is dedicated to delivering the highest quality care within its community using innovative technology.
“It is because of systems like Ozarks Healthcare that we can advance the practice of medicine for the patients who need it most in a way that significantly reduces provider burnout in the process.”
