GE Appliances, a Haier company, has partnered with Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast to support babies and their families through new cloud-based technologies.

Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast is a non-profit organisation. It provides pasteurised donor human milk to premature and medically fragile babies.

The partnership is intended to advance milk donation tracking and management. This will support vulnerable infants in case of any emergency.

Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast CEO Deborah Youngblood said: “The new system will allow us to track milk donations more efficiently, manage donor information effectively, and ultimately provide more life-saving milk to infants in need across the country.”

Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast collaborated with GE Appliances to implement cloud-based software of US-based software company Salesforce.

The goal was to enhance the tracking of milk donations, streamline donor screenings, and increase available milk for families.

The partnership combines GE Appliances’ digital transformation expertise with Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast’s mission to support families.

Using Salesforce technology, they developed a more efficient system for tracking donations and managing distribution.

According to GE Appliances, the collaboration has resulted in a 15% increase in milk production. This means more milk is available for families, helping to keep more infants healthy.

GE Appliances senior principal digital technology program manager Anne Limberg said: “GE Appliances is redefining how our business engages with communities, focusing on skills-based volunteerism to make a transformational difference.

“We assembled an all-women, global team with expertise in technology and project management, to design a custom Salesforce platform tailored to the specific needs of Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast.

“This collaboration is a testament to how we engage differently as a company and how we can leverage our business relationships and expertise to support vital causes.”

The non-profit firm will benefit from Salesforce technology, including Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Sales Cloud.

The organisation will also get support from GE Appliances’ existing Salesforce setup and expertise, staff, and volunteers throughout the entire process, from collection and pasteurisation to hospital distribution.

Additionally, Haier’s company is providing essential cold storage units to safely preserve donor milk for distribution.
